Full Time Bakery Supervisor Required, Full Time Hours 7am – 4pm. (Sundays required).

Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Bakery Supervisor to join our Farm Shop team at Millets Farm Centre. Renowned for our love of home grown and home baked goods, the ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a keen understanding of food safety practices. As a Bakery Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in creating delicious baked goods that delight our customers and enhance their experience. Your creativity and attention to detail will be essential in producing high-quality products that reflect our commitment to excellence. You will also be responsible for the day to day running of the department, overseeing tasks such as ordering, cleaning monitoring and assigning tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, brownies and flapjacks, following established and unique recipes and techniques.
  • Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to during food preparation and baking processes.
  • Assist in the development of new recipes and items, contributing innovative ideas to enhance our offerings.
  • Supervise kitchen staff during baking operations, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
  • Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, placing orders if necessary to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation for events or busy service periods.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working in a bakery or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety regulations, and best practices in food preparation.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for baking and creating high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being capable of working independently when required.
  • Previous experience supervising kitchen staff is essential.

COOKED MEATS & DELI COUNTER ASSISTANT – 5 set days per week including one day over the weekend.

Shift times variable between 8am – 6pm.

Millets Farm Centre is currently recruiting for a full time counter assistant to work across our Deli and Cooked Meat Counters.

Joining the Farm Shop team, you would be responsible for cooking off and displaying a variety of products, ready for sale for our customers. We serve a wonderful array of products including sausage rolls and a variety of pastries. You will take part in playing a vital role to serving our customers and ensuring food production levels are met. No experience required, and full training provided both online and in-house.

Key Duties:

  • Serving customers
  • Bagging up their orders
  • Slicing meats to order
  • Cooking pasties and sausage rolls
  • Displaying items for sale
  • Ticketing items for end of sale

Please note that there are elements of the role that do involve manual handling and heavy lifting, so physical capability is essential.

Part Time Produce Assistant, Alternating Sundays 7am – 5:30pm, Mondays 7am-3:30pm, Wednesdays 7am – 3:30pm. Additional hours available for holiday cover.

Full UK Drivers License essential to this role.

Please note this role will required fork lift training.

Job Overview
As a Produce Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the freshness and quality of our produce section. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their selections, maintaining the presentation of the produce displays, and ensuring that all products meet our high standards. This position requires strong communication skills and a passion for customer service.

Duties

  • Assist customers in selecting fresh fruits and vegetables, providing knowledgeable recommendations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the produce section, ensuring all items are displayed attractively.
  • Monitor product quality and freshness, removing any items that do not meet company standards.
  • Engage with customers to promote sales through effective upselling techniques.
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide excellent service to enhance their shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the department.
  • Perform basic stock management tasks, including receiving deliveries and replenishing stock as needed.
  • Fork Lift License handy, but not essential but you will need to part take in fork lift training.

Skills

  • Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently during busy periods.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong organisation skills

Please note this is a manual role, including lifting and working within chillers and freezers. The ideal candidate will be willing to undertake fork lift training too, as this is an essential part of the role for taking deliveries in.

Full UK Drivers License Required.

Millets Farm Centre is looking for a bakery counter assistant to join their team on Saturdays – 8:30 – 17:00. 

Your duties:

  • Assisting with displaying cakes, cookies, tray bakes and any other items we have made for sale.
  • Pricing up the boxes and bags with items.
  • Excellent food allergy knowledge.
  • Being able to upsell and recommend items to customers. 
  • General cleaning, including food hygiene and health and safety.
  • Reporting any concerns in incidents to your manager/ supervisor. 

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service and will need to be able to work as a team as well as independently. Full training provided, and online training will also be assigned for completion.

Sprouts Playbarn

Café Assistant, Saturdays 08:45 – 18:00.

Millets Farm Centre is looking for a Café Assistant to join their Rose Cottage team, located in Sprouts Play Barn. 

Your Duties:

  • Making hot and cold beverages for customers.
  • Assisting with taking orders on the Tills.
  • Ensuring all food allergens are noted on orders.
  • Stocking up with fridges and dry stock areas. 
  • Ensuring the area is clean at all times.
  • Assisting with cleaning down of the main seating areas at the end of each session. 

This role is ideal for someone with previous coffee experience, but not essential. Excellent customer service required, and the ability to work well in a busy environment.
