Our Drinks Department has both local offerings and a selection from further a field.
Many locally brewed beers are stocked and beers from the following breweries can be you on our shelves: The Ridgeway Brewery, which also sells Coniston and Salopian Brewery beers, Loose Cannon brewery based in Abingdon, Cotswold Brewery and White Horse as well as Arkells and Box Brewery from the Swindon Area. There is an extensive range of ciders including locally made ciders from the Tutts Clump Brewery. We work closely with The Oxford Wine Company to supply our customers with a large selection of their more popular wines from around the world. We grow nine traditional varieties of apple, plus two pear varieties, in our orchards on Millets Farm, using traditional systems. Varieties range from the wonderfully named Howgate Wonder and Lord Lambourne to the well known Bramley and Cox. Our fruit is pressed on the same day it is picked to maximise the flavour. After settling overnight, the juice is bottled, and then pasteurised gently to preserve the freshly pressed taste with a good shelf life. We add no sugar, water, colour or preservatives, with only a little Vitamin C added to prevent oxidation (browning) The juice is splendidly healthy too! |
