Our Drinks Department has both local offerings and a selection from further a field.
 

Our local wines include White wines from Brightwell Vineyard at Wallingford, and the Hendred Vineyard at East Hendred. We also stock Red, White, Rose and Sparkling wines from the Three Choirs Vineyard in Worcs.

Many locally brewed beers are stocked, and a selection from the following breweries can be found on our shelves:

The Ridgeway Brewery, which also sell Coniston beers, Hook Norton, Cotswold, Halfpenny and White Horse Brewery as well as Arkells and Box Brewery from the Swindon area.

There is also an extensive range of ciders including some made locally.

We work closely with the The Oxford Wine Company to supply our customers with a large selection of quality wines from around the world. We also stock a selection of organic wines and champagnes. Any wines not on our shelves can be ordered with 7 days notice. www.oxfordwine.co.uk

Millets Apple Juice

We grow nine traditional varieties of apple, plus two pear varieties, in our orchards on Millets Farm, using traditional systems. Varieties range from the wonderfully named Howgate Wonder and Lord Lambourne to the well known Bramley and Cox.

It is important to allow the flavours of the apple to develop fully so that the fruit can express its varietal taste to best advantage. If the fruit stays on the tree too long those delicate flavours can become cloyed and over-ripe. We keep trying the fruit, and when we think its time to go – we get on with it. The fruit is selected and picked by hand from the tree.

Our fruit is pressed on the same day it is picked to maximise the flavour. After settling overnight, the juice is bottled, and then pasteurised gently to preserve the freshly pressed taste with a good shelf life. We add no sugar, water, colour or preservatives, with only a little Vitamin C added to prevent oxidation (browning) The juice is splendidly healthy too!
