Farm Zoo and Childrens Play Area

Millets Farm Zoo is adjacent to the fishing lakes, set in beautiful countryside behind the Farm Shop and Restaurants. Amongst the various farm zoo animals we have 3 different coloured ponies and two small black Dexter cattle. The six goats, including horned black and white Saanen and Pygmy breeds are most excitable in the morning when being fed cereals, hay and extras. We keep 13 sheep including 9 black (5 being last years lambs) 4 Jacobs and a ram (neutered with a funny, big voice and one eye!). The two Kune Kune pigs come from a New Zealand breed of pigs. They are friendly and fun and will come to see you, but if you pat one, watch its teeth!! They love eating cereal and various fruit vegetables and grass. They grow up to 900mm high and have tassels under their chin.

We also have Alpacas and guinea pigs, which originate in the South America Highlands areas. Alpacas are domesticated camels and kept for their warm tough fleece. They live on grass cereal and other fresh food. These are fascinating to watch when they are active.

A lakeside pergola allows wild fowl including swans to be fed and watched safely. A flock of fan-tailed doves live around the stables.
 

Childrens Play Area is located next to the Farm Zoo. It is a great setting in the country to have some fun in the fresh air. There is a mix of swings, slides and other playground items to enjoy.
