Millets Maize Maze: Frequently Asked Questions

Once you have paid the entry cost is there any additional charges?
No. The maze and courtyard activities are all included in the entry price. We do sell drinks, snacks and merchandise.

Do we need to book in advance?
No. Just arrive on your chosen day and purchase your admission tickets as you enter. However, for large groups we do recommend you make a booking to speed up the arrival process.
To pre-book please email events@milletsfarmcentre.com or call 07826 132416

Can children go around the maze on their own?
No, children under 14 need to be accompanied by an Adult.

How long should we allow for the visit?
The mazes takes approx.1.5hr to complete, but make sure you allow extra time to enjoy the other activities in our 2 courtyard areas.

Can we leave the maze and come back later?
Yes, on the day of your visit, you can enter and leave the maze area as many times as you wish. We hope you will visit the other attractions at Millets Farm Centre.

Can we pay a separate entry price and just use the courtyard activities?
At certain times we may be able to offer a discount off the entry prices just to use the courtyard activities. Please note this will be at the supervisors discretion, and won’t be offered during busy periods. However, we ask that people do not attempt to enter the maze as this may cause you embarrassment.

Is the maze open all year?
No. We’re open from 15th July until 18th September. As the maize is a planted crop it is harvested in the autumn and used as animal feed.

Does the maze still open when its raining?
Yes. Although we recommend you call in advance as heavy rain could make some of the bridges on the maze unsafe which would mean the maze would be closed. Also, some of the activities in the courtyard would be closed during rain. Please note we have a no refund policy.

What should we wear?
The Maize Maze is a growing crop built each year into a regular field. The paths are well prepared and free of stones, but solid footwear suitable for walking distances is advisable. Do dress appropriately for the weather conditions, if it is hot, do remember a sun hat, and if it looks like rain, a waterproof jacket.

Are there toilets in the maze?
Yes, we have port-a-loos within the maze (in the courtyard area not within the maize). Additional facilities are located next to the farm shop, in the restaurant and garden centre.

Do you have baby changing facilities?
Our baby changing facilities are located in the main toilet block next to the farm shop (approx 150meters away)

Do you allow dogs into the maze?
No. Dogs are allowed in the overflow car parking areas but for hygiene reasons not inside the maze. We do allow guide dogs.

Is the maze suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs?
As the maize is a real crop the pathways are soil. We try and ensure the maze pathways are smooth and compact but pushchairs and wheelchairs may struggle.

Can we bring a picnic into the maze area?
Yes. We also have a Farmside Restaurant on the Farm Centre which is open daily from 9-5pm.

Is smoking allowed?
No. There is no smoking allowed in any area of the maize or courtyards.

Is alcohol permitted?
No alcohol is permitted in the maize during the day. However, during our torchlight evenings, we are happy for adults to enjoy a drink responsibly in our courtyard
